Great ice cream sundae's. Offerings are amazing. Best ice cream & shakes I've had. Reasonable prices. Weekend late afternoon & evenings are very crowded. Prefer to stop in mid week

I have been trying to go to Eddie's for so long. It's been a staple in Forest Hills for years. I finally went a few weeks ago and I wasn't disappointed. We sat on the stools and chatted with the staff they were sooo cool. I'm so bad with names but we were chatting with the husband and wife and the one that seems like the manager or owner. All cool and lots of laughs. Let's get into the delicious ice cream tho. I had rum raisin and coconut with marshmallow caramel whip cream sprinkles and a cherry on top. It was so yummy. Authentic ice cream in a vintage ice cream shop. This was so dope. Everyone I was with enjoyed as well.

Because this place is popular on a weekend evening, expect a few minutes of wait while they prepare orders. The wait isn't too unreasonable, especially when you sit at the bar and realize how busy they are. It's nearly packed with people standing in line to order, but we managed to grab seats for two. There's some families, but you'll see people of all ages here ready to enjoy sweets. The spoons, ice cream dishes, candies displayed, and bar stools all bring you back in time and give the illusion that the place looks like how it looked when it first opened. I got a dish of banana ice cream, and it was unlike anything I've ever tried. I'm not sure if it was because of the unique flavor or because of the quality of the ice cream or both, but I'm planning to find out when I visit next time. The prices are on the higher end for ice cream, but I hope to return and order something different to settle if the ice cream is worth the price here!

CASH ONLY! We came here on a Sunday afternoon after watching a movie next door and it was extremely packed and busy. It gets pretty crowded inside especially when the to-go line wraps around bar. Also they're very transparent that they have long wait times especially since everything is made fresh to order. Everything looks delicious and everyone there is really nice. We got two shakes with 3 scoops of ice cream in each. Blueberry (seasonal summer flavor) with vanilla syrup, and orange freeze. Both shakes came out to $28. The blueberry shake was incredible, we highly recommend trying it because of the fresh blueberry flavor. The orange freeze was also insanely refreshing and nostalgic. Everything was delicious so we didn't mind the wait. We cannot wait to return and I try out their sundaes and other flavors of ice cream.

We were so excited to finally find a place that sells Banana Splits !! And the ambiance, service and dessert didn't disappoint, TOTALLY recommended !! There was a line even at 9-10pm at night on a Saturday summer day so be ready to wait, there is space in the counter but still need to wait to be seater! The service is really quick which we love! We really enjoyed the ice cream, most of their ingredients are made on premises which makes the flavors genuine and delicious! Go on a date, go with your family, but go!!

This place is a neighborhood staple. They have been here for a very long time and you definitely get a sense of nostalgia as soon as you come in. Everything is cash and everything is fresh so there's a wait and there are signs up telling you so! There's a counter you can order or sit down at and there are tables in the back. I got a float to go so I'm not sure if it's table service or not. It can get busy here, especially in the summer. The staff here are very nice and their ice cream is delicious. They also have tons of candy as well. Worth the visit whether you live in the area or not.

I've had Eddie's Sweet Shop on my list of go-to's for a while. It was bookmarked as a place I would love to try during the summer as I ventured out for my walks or perhaps took a class in the area. As a true lover of ice cream, I must say, it was worth the wait! I visited on a Wednesday evening, for an after work date. We arrived at 7pm and were instantly greeted by staff. There were a few people there but not enough to say it was packed. From the entrance to the inside, the decor is very reminiscent of a classic fountain soda shop or ice cream parlor. Granted, I am no where in age that I would know what that was like, but I definitely got the feeling when I walked in. From the tiled floors to the coca-cola sign out front, and the counter seats, I felt like I walked into the past, and it was cool! Upon walking in, there are counter seats as well as small tables in the back of the establishment. There is also a counter with a variety of candy for sale. We opted for a seat at the counter. They aren't the most comfy seats, but it lends to the experience. A server offered us a menu and gave us a moment to review. She also mentioned that the ice cream is made daily in-house. I did not know that but I got even more excited to hear that as it means this is a true ice cream parlor. The menu features a variety of ice cream dishes including sundaes, floats, milkshakes, and scoops. I decided to have a simple sundae that included two scoops of ice cream, whipped cream and a cherry on top. They have an alright variety of flavors. I have 2 favorite ice cream flavors - grapenut and cookies and cream. The former is pretty hard to come across unless you're in the Caribbean, but it's not typically hard to find cookies and cream. Unfortunately, Eddies did not have this flavor, nor did they offer oreo cookies as a topping, I was a bit disappointed but I found another favorite, vanilla with rainbow sprinkles. My date had rum raisin with crushed pineapple. Our treats were up within a few minutes and being that we were at the counter, we had a chance to see them make it first hand. The presentation of our treats was cute as they placed them in some chilled stemmed ice cream cups. My vanilla ice cream with the sprinkles was good. It had the right amount of sweetness with a slightly creamy texture. I did not however, like the whipped cream. It had a light texture but it tasted bland and had no sweetness to it. I'm assuming it was homemade, not sure. My date enjoyed his dessert as well and had no complaints. Overall, it was good! In terms of service, the staff were pleasant and attentive. We had no issues whatsoever. Moreover, the establishment appeared clean and pricing was very reasonable. Most of the items on the menu were less than $10, I believe. 4 stars for a good ice cream and good service! I would definitely return and further recommend it to others. It's ideal for a nice after dinner treat with friends, family, a date, or even solo time out.

They make their own ice cream and sauces, and boy are they good. We got a banana split with rum raisin ice cream and chocolate ice cream. A delicious treat. The place looks like a truly classic ice cream joint out of the mid 20th century. All original decor. Note that they only take cash.

We were taken out to lunch by grandma, after school let out for the summer. It was about a week or two later, and we didn't look up the time it opened. It opened rather late, around 2pm or 3pm, which, for the summer, seemed a little off, but then again, you're in FOHI, QNS, not some poppin' neighborhood. Thank goodness it was the middle of the week, bc they're also not open a couple of days in the beginning of the week, which was even more surprising, bc it was July. The ambiance felt just like an old school soda fountain shop. The service was attentive. We sat at the bar. There aren't many booths or tables and chairs, so if you want to sit in one, arrive before they open, as we did, to get those types of seats, especially in warmer weather. They had some great flavors on the menu and the shake was made just right. They only accept cash. Don't leave home without it. I guess they kept to the old school feel with that idea, as well.

An authentic ice cream shop that even makes their own whipped cream. The icecream is creamy and delicious. They only take cash but it's so worth it. I would recommend the pistachio icecream and the vanilla with chocolate syrup.
